Solitude 6P

Bought solitude 6P over the holidays. Wasn’t able to set it up until May. Shortly after getting tipi they sent me a second carbon pole out of the blue. Apparently there was a possible pole defect. I appreciate the pro active problem solving. I’ll keep the original pole as a back up.

I weighed all the parts with my cheapo scale and advertised weights are accurate. Thanks for the honesty.

I bought just the Tipi and Torrid XL. Set up was easy. From my point of view there are 4 main stake down points for the tent body. Staked down the 2 on the single door side. Used pole to measure for the 2 stake down points on the two door side. Slid pole in from the end to get the tipi up then un zipped door to get the pole just right. Staked down the rest of the points. Went up quick.

Stakes are 7.5 inches long and seem to work well. I liked the depth of the cut outs to capture string. There are enough stakes for the tent body. I added six more 6 inch stakes that I had lying around for guyouts. Will likely switch the ones I added over to a longer variety.

Ski pole tensioning system works well. Was a little worried about poking a hole, but it’s designed well and I’m not worried about it any more.

I’m 6’. Getting in and out is no big deal. Standing and dressing in tent is no big deal, even with ski poles inside.

My first Tipi. Have spent 3 long weekends in buddies seek 8p. I like these doors better. I like the ability to hang stuff off ski poles.

Preparation

I purchased this tent preparing for 2 up coming trips to Alaska this year

Easy set up

I watched 1 YouTube video and set the tent up in less than 10 minutes. I tested the Torrid stove inside at 30 degrees. It worked great but would definitely use the XL stove for longer burn time. I can’t wait to see how the tent holds up in snow.
