After much research, I feel I chose the right poles with the Backcountry Elites! They are both lightweight, yet strong with the tough bottom section. I love them!

Never going back to rei for poles

I'm 6'3 265 and this is 1st time elk hunting and putting a lot of weight on them and they held their mud. 8 days straight on archery elk and no issues. Worked great on Trex pole tent too.

Broken leg

I broke my leg (Tibia Plateau fracture) in June and was determined to hunt elk with my son in September. I knew I needed some help and crutches weren’t gonna cut it. These trekking poles were just the thing I needed to stabilize my walking on uphills, side hills, downhills and generally flat areas. I could adjust them short and use as a cane around camp, or make them longer and use as normal. They worked great and I know they will go with me on every hunt, even after I’m all healed up!
