The PEAX Solitude 4 Half Nest insert offers complete protection against bugs and insects for the backcountry hunter. Designed to provide a lightweight and spacious haven, the half nest is perfect for the solo hunter looking to maximize sleep space while also maintaining a large floorless area to stow gear, stack firewood (yes it’s compatible with a stove), set up a camp chair, etc. Its system based design ensures easy setup and full compatibility with the PEAX Solitude 4 Tipi and the CROSSTREK™ stabilization system, making it an essential addition to any backcountry trip where ground based or airborne enemies may be a problem.

  • Mesh-Only Pitch - With it’s unique design the Half Nest can be set up on it’s own in warm weather conditions when rain protection is not necessary, but bug protection and air flow are a must.
  • Wall Tension System™ - This patent pending system tightens and strengthens the four main seams, eliminating sag. This creates more head space for greater comfort and livability.

Half nest

Another great product from Peax. Exactly what I was wanting for my Solitude 4 dyneema tipi. When camping or hunting in bug infested weather it keeps me protected and still allows the other half of the tipi to be used as my vestibule. Being able to pitch it stand alone on hot clear nights a huge plus

Nice Warm Weather Addition to the Solitude 4

I've been able to use the Half Nest a few times and it is easy to set up, roomy, and kept the bugs out, I like the additional room the Solitude 4 provides compared to my typical summer tent. I watched the tutorial, but I highly recommend testing the setup before taking it into the field. It is more challenging to set up than the Solitude 4 with the footprint. Also, take additional stakes in case the outer gets drenched. It may sag into the nest. I was unable to get the trekking poles to work. It wasn't the nest, so that's something for me to figure out because it can be done, It's great that I can now use the Solitude 4 in warmer months.

Half Nest

The half nest is easy to set up and works great for keeping the unwanted bugs out. I also like that it leaves the other half of the tipi for gear. If pitched under a branch the top can be tied to a branch and pitched by itself in nice weather. Very well made and thought out!
