I%20just%20recently%20purchased%20a%20pair%20of%20Peax%20Storm%20Castle%20Gaiters.%20%20This%20is%20my%202nd%20pair.%20My%201st%20pair%20were%20size%20medium%20for%20use%20in%20hot%20weather.%20My%202nd%20pair%20were%20size%20large%20for%20use%20in%20cold%20weather%20with%20insulated%20boots%20and%20multiple%20layers%20of%20clothing.%20I%20have%20tried%20the%20fit%20and%20everything%20seems%20to%20work%20well.%20Also,%20I%20have%20the%20headlamp%20and%20(I%20use%20it%20religiously)and%20the%20elite%20trekking%20poles.%20These%20guys%20have%20done%20your%20homework%20partly%20because%20you%20live%20the%20life.%20I%27m%20not%20an%20elk%20or%20deer%20hunter.%20I%27m%20a%20houndsman%20in%20the%20Appalachian%20steep%20mountains%20that%20currently%20is%20running%203%20packs%20of%20dogs.%2030%20total%20and%20I%20appreciate%20good%20quality%20%22thought%20out%22%20gear.%20On%20the%20lighter%20note,%20I%20would%20purchase%20one%20of%20your%20tents,%20but%20I%27m%20closterfobic.%20LOL%20,I%20%20can%27t%20do%20it.%20Keep%20up%20the%20cutting%20edge%20technology%20and%20designing%20that%20works!

It only took one scouting trip for me to see how important these gaiters would be for me. Full protection, and no slipping down the calf. Very good.

Had them all over the last few decades, Sitka, kuiu, stone glacier, Outdoor Research, etc.
By far Peax are the most durable and though out.

Side note- Peax XL fit very nicely over the new Alaska Gear Bunny Boot.

Let me say, this is the second pair of gaiters I have bought. I bought a pair of Stone Glacier gaiters. The quality was good but at the time their suspension system around the foot was terrible and would come loose which made for a bad day. They have since re-designed this but after trying to contact the company I got no response. In looking around I saw a video of the Brian Calls Gritty and they were using Peak Gaiters. I went on line and gave a closer inspection on these as well as looked at the suspension buckle and strap that goes under your boot. These looked really robust and I pulled the trigger. I really liked the fact they have these in different sizes to fit just about anyone’s calf size. I measured my calf and selected the size I fell into. When I received them I put them on to check the ease of putting them on. The strap and buckle that secures them to your boot is very robust. I like the Velcro and the ease of putting them on. The top buckle is kind of unique but no problem. They don’t sag and the clip attaches to the front of your boot no problem. All in all the quality is first rate and I gave them five stars. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve had many brands of gator and these are by far the best, absolutely no comparison
